Chamber of Commerce Meeting Minutes
Meeting called to order at 8:03 a.m.
Attending: Kerrie McFarland, Debby Olson, Rick Harbin, Lu Shomate, Stacey Martinez, Rochelle Walker, Glenda Brabec, Dan Schmidt
Recap of Christmas Stroll Event - was decided that all future Christmas Stroll’s will be held the 2nd Thursday of December. Lu Shomate will send letter to Debi Smith at Colstrip Schools to advise her of this date. Terry Currier will present an article to Independent Press/Cheyenne Voice to announce the winners of the Scavenger Hunt/Decorations. Rick Harbin will look into getting a vinyl sign for the fence for advertising the Christmas Stroll.
IRS Paperwork Update – Debby Olson & Terry Currier will meet to gather all financial information and then Paul Strom CPA will complete necessary paperwork for the Chamber to reinstate their 501 3C status. Having Paul Strom take of this paperwork was passed at a previous meeting.
Treasurer Report: Bank Balance $9922.00 with several outstanding bills at this time.
Colstrip Chamber will sponsor the Concessions Coupons for the Roxy’s Christmas Matinee which is being sponsored by the Forsyth Chamber. Sunday, December 18 @ 2 - Alvin & the Chipmunks –CHIPWRECKED - Motion Passed
Lu Shomate asked that Jodie Aberle be reimbursed in the amount of $99.00 for the cups that were purchased for the Chili Cook-off that was cancelled. Motion Passed
2012 Chamber Board Members – we need nominations as elections for the open positions should be held in January. Discussed – having the Vice President assume the Secretary role – since the Treasurer’s duties are quite involved with the finances. President- VP/Secretary- Treasurer
2012 Goals discussed – we need ideas for any type of activity that the Chamber could sponsor or be a part of. If you have any ideas, please forward them to us.
2012 Colstrip Days –it was brought to the attention of the chamber that there will be 5 weekends in June in 2012- after discussion it was decided that Colstrip Days will be held the 4th weekend in June as stated in the Chamber Directory - The dates are: June 22/23/24
Kerrie will contact Kia at Rosebud County Insurance and ask her to come and refresh the Chamber as to what event are and are NOT covered under our Insurance Policy.
January 10, 2012 is the next scheduled Chamber Meeting. Meeting Adjourned.
